Green Cooking Class
In our Kuta resort, we introduce complimentary Green Cooking Class offering guests a traditional and eco-friendly culinary experience. Guided by our experienced culinary team, learn how to cook various Balinese and Indonesian foods with local ingredients grown at our own garden. Participate with friends and family to learn the secret recipe of the local taste, made of local ingredients and with zero waste left.
Set in the midst of tropical garden, this experience starts with a short tour at the resort’s garden, in which some of the vegetables, herbs and spices used for ingredients are grown. Our team will guide you to learn about the nature of each ingredient as well as some tips of growing them, before picking some for the class. All garden products are fertilized using organic manure converted from food waste. Guests are allowed to participate in planting and harvesting the products as well. With food products that are produced in the resort, we reduce fuel and energy consumption used for transporting the products.
The experience continues with outdoor cooking activities. Making use of state-of-the-art technology, the cooking class is fueled with natural biogas which is also processed and converted from food waste. The outdoor setting also helps reducing electricity use. Our culinary team will guide you through steps and live demonstrations of cooking the dishes using local technique to bring more authenticity. It is an interactive lesson where you can personally ask the chefs anything about the menu preparation or technique. In the process, food products are chopped into smaller pieces because smaller pieces can be heated faster so that less energy will be used.
At the end of the cooking, plate your culinary creation to your own delight and savor the cuisine you have prepared with our team. Leftovers of the cooking class and the dining experience will be collected and used to feed the converter system which will process them into fertilizers for the garden and biogas for another cooking class.
