Things to Do in Kuta and Legian

Kuta and Legian famous as always for tourist who would like to visit Bali. With so many attractions and things to do in those areas, people would be able to get everything they want. Start from beaches, restaurants, small bards, clubs, hotels, and small shops every 10 meters. Here are some things you could do when you are in Kuta and Legian area:

1. Surfing and Play with the Waves

 

Bali has many support surf spots, and Kuta is one of the premier spot for a surfer. The lessons are available from many surfing schools, from beginners until advanced level. Kuta and Legian is the center of tourist activity. Other than surfing, you could go swimming, recreations, tanning, get some massage and nail art from the locals. With lots of other activity and public facilities, it will make the surfer easy to surf and enjoyable.

2. Sunrise and Sunset Jogging

 

Running on the beach, while enjoying the ocean is one activity you should consider while you are in Bali. Kuta has a long and vast beach, which is very great for jogging. If you would like to get a peaceful atmosphere, wake up at 6 am, bring your vehicle and park somewhere near the beach, and run along the beach, you will get about 10K run. Run while watching the sunset also can be one of the right choices, if you don’t mind with the crowded.

3. Shopping in the Art Market

 

Legian Art Market is located along Jalan Melasti and Jalan Sahadewa. You could find many kinds of handcraft souvenirs, bags, Balinese style clothes, and paintings. The location is very strategic, which is near many restaurants, hotels, small bars, and mini markets.  Another great area for shopping is the Kuta Art Market. It’s almost the same like Legian Art Market. Make sure to check the quality of the items, and do bargain before you decided to buy those items.

4. Remember the Bali blast victims in Ground Zero Memorial

 

The Ground Zero Memorial was opened in 2004, two years after Jemaah Islamiyah terrorists launched their deadly attack. The sandstone wall was made with traditional ‘Kayonan’ carvings, which holds a marble plaque in the middle with the names of each victim. There are around 200 dead victims, and another 200 suffering from bad injuries.  Visit this memorial to pay your respect could be in your “must to do” list while you were in the Legian area.

5. Live Music, Have a Drink, and Party All Night Long

 

The real reason why you should visit Legian is because of the small bars and clubs around. It’s very easy to find many kinds of drink places while enjoying the live music or the busy streets in Legian. Make sure to do a research for the recommended nightclubs or bars, and their featured DJ or singer, so you won’t miss the fun!
